I have made a few websites for other people and have always wanted my own one but have never had the time or the patience to complete one, until now. I have been working hard at Uni and thought that I had an almost guaranteed job for the holidays and study breaks. Well, now it is the mid semester break and I have no work for two weeks (except for a little website work) so I decided to make my webpage.
I had never completed one but I have many unfinished ones, or ones that the site just got out of hand, or I worked out a better way to do things. But this time I think I have done it well.
Metrix was made on my 867Mhz PowerBook with 512Mb Ram. I used Adobe Photoshop CS, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and mostly Textedit.
I was thinking about doing it with php scripts but even I get annoyed at uncacheable pages, even if they have really cool scripts.
This site uses cascade style scripts for most of the formatting which is cool because one change of the formatting will change the whole site's format. Also the header and footer are server side includes and one change to the included file changes all the sites headers and footers. I did this because with my last attempt I was sick of continually making changes to every file in the site just because of one change.
At the time of writing this I haven't yet designed the front page, and I don't really know what I should do with it.
